Deploying Windows 7 with ConfigMgr 2012 RC1

Using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 RC1, we will demonstrate the hybrid deployment method for deploying Windows 7 SP1. We will demonstrate how to create an automated build process for a base image and then how to deploy that image to different business users, customizing it for the target user. ConfigMgr 2012 takes a User-Centric approach to system management and this presentation will show how to leverage that for Windows 7 deployment.

Burning Rivers Developers Group - Call for Speakers

E-mail Print PDF

From Kevin Berridge of Burning Rivers Developers Group...

Hello everyone!

Now that the holidays and CodeMash are behind us, I am beginning to plan our meetings for the upcoming year. If you are interested in giving a talk, please let me know and we can discuss what you would like to present.

Burning River Developers is a "technology agnostic" meetup, meaning we accept topics on any language, platform, or tool. If it is something that you are passionate about and that you believe you can present in an interesting way, then it's probably perfect for Burning River Devs! We generally meet the 3rd Thursday of every month. Our usual format is two semi-related 30 minute talks given by two different presenters, but I'm also looking for more in-depth hour long talks.

I'm also planning on trying a few different meeting formats including lightning talks, katas, and another programming challenges. If that is something you'd be interested in, let me know!

Finally, if you know someone who might be interested in presenting but is not registered with our group on Meetup, let them know about us!

You can get in touch with me through twitter @kberridge.

Shoutout to the Community’s Sponsors

E-mail Print PDF

As much as I like promoting the user groups and events here, I want to thank those who help make it possible for our groups to sustain and our events to happen.  Thank you to all of the sponsors behind the user groups, as the location, food, speaker fees, and other costs with running a user group are covered from your support.

Shoutouts go to:

LeanDog, Inc.

From Ignite Cleveland to Startup Weekend to hosting other groups to the GiveCamp to an upcoming TechMash event – this company has been planning, sponsoring, or hosting many events and groups within the past couple months.  Jon Stahl and his team have been a welcome addition to the technical arena, and I look forward to collaborating with these guys on other events here.

Bennett Adelson

This company helps organize many groups here including the Cleveland System Center Special Interest Group, the Ohio North SQL SIG, and the .NET SIG.

 Sogeti

This company has sponsored the food and venue for the Cleveland C#/VB.NET SIG.  Every month, there’s always at least one Sogeti person on hand to make sure everything is running smoothly at the venue.  You may also see them as sponsors for some of the other events in the area.

 Microsoft

This company has permitted many user groups – including the Ohio North SQL Server SIG, the Bennett Adelson.NET SIG, and Cleveland SharePoint Users Group – to use their facilities.  They also support, host, and/or sponsor many events here – including the Cleveland Silverlight Firestarter, the MSDN events, the ArcReady events, the TechNet events, and the Cleveland Day of .NET.

Keep in mind that sponsorship and community support are not the sole things that these companies focus on.  These are also businesses that appreciate the work that we send their way.  If they didn’t have work coming in, they wouldn’t be able to provide the support and sponsorships for the community.  So please check out their sites and remember that these are just a few of the many sponsors who have helped our community.

If you run a group here and want us to give a shoutout to your sponsors, drop us a line at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
